We look to our own network of Award winners and see just how diverse they are. At Ashden, we are committed to tackling SDG 7: To ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. While our winners not only strive to tackle this issue, their work also cuts across many of the other goals as well.

Explore just some of the Global Goals supported by our fantastic group of 2017 Award winners:

Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

Big Birmingham Bikes and Hangzhou Bicycle Service are improving health by reducing air pollution and are promoting a healthier lifestyle for people in cities. By integrating this method of transportation into city infrastructure, we can also hope to tackle Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities (see below).

Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

Empower Generation in Nepal not only promotes the use of clean energy products, but empowers women to become more independent and play a key role in the workforce, which also helps in achieving Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth (see below).

Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

Ashden's mission is at the heart of all of our winners' work. Mobisol, PEG Africa and Pamir Energy are inspirational in their efforts to achieve clean energy access for all by providing access to renewable energy.

Goal 8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all

Haileybury Youth Trust is equipping young people with the skills needed for employment and is helping to build a sustainable economy in Uganda, while Futurepump's solar irrigation pump is increasing crop yields and boosting farmers' incomes.

Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation

Ecolibrium Energy and Smarter Grid Solutions are using smart energy and innovation to promote sustainable industrialisation.

Goal 11: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

Nottingham City Council, Passivhaus Trust and Switchee are all contributing to sustainable living in cities.
