We go to great lengths each year to decide who deserves the accolade of winning an Ashden Award. As well as reviewing detailed applications, we visit applicants to review their work and meet project representatives. Applications are also reviewed by our esteemed judging panels, which include some of the leading experts in the field.

Ashden Award winners: an elite community
The culmination of the process is the prestigious Ashden Awards Ceremony in London, where prizes are presented to winners from across the globe to help further their work. During the week we also hold Ashden Conferences and other events to showcase our winners’ work and discuss the challenges of creating a low-carbon future. The 2016 Ashden Awards ceremony will be held on 9 June.
But our winners don’t just receive prize money. They also benefit from national and global exposure, tailored support to help them develop their work even further as well as access to new networks. Even more importantly, they join the community of over 180 Ashden Alumni.
