A dedicated Ashden TV channel has been launched as part of the first environmental channel on Sony BRAVIA® TVs, Blu-ray™ Disc and Network Media players.
From today, viewers across Europe, the USA, Canada, CIS and Latin America will be able to watch the inspiring stories of Ashden Award winners on the new Green.TV channel on their Sony TV screens.
Sarah Butler-Sloss, Founder Director of Ashden said: "We are delighted to see Ashden video content going out on Green.TV's connected TV channel on Sony. We are keen to share our inspirational winners’ stories as widely as possible, and Sony connected TV represents a very exciting new audience for us.”
Ade Thomas, Founder of Green.TV, said: "Green.TV has worked with Ashden for a number of years producing video of its great work, so it's now great to add a new distribution channel with Sony to help get those videos out to a wide audience."
Green.TV already has contracts with Apple, Nokia, Aol, Blinkx and Dailymotion. Sony represents a substantive new channel through which to distribute content on behalf of Ashden and the other content partner organisations it works with.
The Ashden Awards were set up in 2001 to champion practical, local energy solutions that cut carbon, protect the environment, reduce poverty and improve people’s lives.
In addition to receiving a cash prize, Ashden Award winners receive support to help them grow even further as well as a broadcast-quality film about their work, and the issues they are tackling.
Applications for our UK, Sustainable Travel and Schools Awards are still open. Find out more here.
