The People and Environment Business awards aim to “celebrate how green initiatives can be good for business as well as for the planet,”, identifying key figures who inspire others in their work.
Leo Johnson, head of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Sustainability and Climate Change and Chairman of the judging panel says “this is a moment where the business sector has to respond rapidly to the social, environmental and economic crises we confront… the PEA awards celebrate the catalysts.”
Winning the responsible tourism award, the judges were impressed by CAT’s work inspiring environmental behaviour change. They highlighted CAT’s diverse range of green courses and internationally renowned visitor’s centre, which “fulfils the vital role of explaining CAT’s work and generating interest in just about every eco-technology under the sun.”
The judges commented “CAT is a product of the first great wave of eco-awareness in the 1970s, when no one had heard of global warming, but many people were worried that oil was running out and that mankind was ravaging the Earth. It has been getting it right for so long.”
Keep up the brilliant work, CAT!
